GUT is also known as our ” second brain” & it’s health has a knock-on impact on our overall wellbeing. GUT or Gastrointestinal Tract is a long pipe starting from our mouth that ends at our anus, where it digests food and absorbs nutrients.

Gut Health refers to the balance between good and bad micro-organisms that reside in your digestive tract. The human GUT( gastrointestinal tract) is colonized by approximately 100 trillion microorganisms, including bacteria, archaea, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. The activity and composition of these microorganisms (collectively known as the gut microbiota, microbiome, or intestinal microflora) can affect human health and disease.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder that affects the stomach and intestines, Symptoms include cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, and diarrhea or constipation, or both. Types of IBS are – IBS-C(Constipation), IBS-D (Diahhroea), IBS-M (Mixed), IBS -U(Unclassified)

Gastroesophageal Reflux disease (GERD)

GERD is a condition in which acid-containing contents in the stomach persistently leak back up into esophagus. Acid reflux happens because a valve at the end of esophagus, the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) doesn’t close properly as it has become weaker. This happens due to low stomach acid.

Our Approach is to deal with Low Stomach Acid & increase it by bringing dietary changes.

Low Stomach Acid

Low stomach acid, and more specifically, low hydrochloric acid (HCL), is referred to as hypochlorhydria. It aids in the digestion of protein, the absorption of vital nutrients, and the killing of viruses and bacteria that may otherwise infect the digestive system. Hypochlorhydria makes it difficult to effectively digest food, particularly protein. One may experience severe dietary deficits & infections with low stomach acid. 

By using strategies to increase the stomach acid naturally, we deal with problems of LSA.

SIBO

SIBO or Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth is bacterial overgrowth in small intestine. Overgrowth of bacteria in the jejunum and ileum of small intestine is considered SIBO.

SIBO leads to maldigestion and malabsorption as the bacteria interferes with normal enzymatic and metabolic activity that take place in small intestine.

Our approach to deal with SIBO is to starve & kill the bacteria by eliminating FODMAP & other foods from the diet that are food for bacteria.

Leaky Gut Syndrome

There are small gaps in the intestinal wall called tight junctions that allow only water and nutrients to pass through. When these tight junctions become loose, the walls become more permeable, which may allow bacteria and toxins to pass from the gut into the bloodstream known as “leaky gut.”

We deal with Leaky GUT by introducing Dietary changes as well as introducing Pre-Pro & post biotics in the diet (SCFAs) to heal the inflamed GUT lining.
