Modak is an Indian sweet dumpling dish popular in many Indian states and cultures. According to Hindu belief, it is considered one of the favourite dishes of Lord Ganesha and is therefore used in prayers.

Ragi Fig Stuffed Modaks (4-5 serving)
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup Ragi Flour
- 1/4 cup soaked dates n figs
- 1/4 cup jaggery powder
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp milk to bind
Stuffing - Desiccated Coconut – 2.5 tbsp
- Almond Milk – 1 tsp
- Almond Milk Powder – 1 tsp
- Cardamom powder

Method:
- Soak Fig & Dates for 2-3 hours, drain out the water & grind.
- Dry Roast Ragi flour & leave it to cool down.
- Roast or cook Figs & Dates Mix in the Pan to dehydrate it fully.
- Mix Ragi Flour & the mixture in 3.
- For stuffing add all the ingredients to get a dough kind of texture.
- Shape the ragi dough & stuff it with coconut stuffing.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds (optional)

2. Barnyard – Pan flavoured Modaks
Ingredients:
- Barnyard Millet Flour -1/4 cup
- Desiccated Coconut – 6tbsp
- Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
- Cashew butter – 3 tbsp
- Gulkand – 3 tsp
- Saffron milk – 2 tsp
- Sugar or Khand – 2 tsp
- Chopped Cranberries – 2 tbsp
Method – Mix all the ingredients & shape into Modaks.
3. Almonds – Amaranth Modaks
Ingredients:
- Almonds – 2 tbsp (20)
- Chia seeds – 1 tbsp
- Sesame seeds – 1 tbsp
- Dates Syrup – 1 tbsp
- Jaggery Powder – 1 tbsp
- Pumpkin Seeds – 1 tbsp
- Puffed Amaranth – 1/4 cup
- Milk – 1-2 tsp
Method – Dry Roast Almonds, Chia Seeds, sesame Seeds & pumpkin seeds. Grind into fine powder. Add other ingredients to it. Make the dough & shape into Modaks. Cover them with puffed amaranth while they are still hot.
