Kids enjoy eating the dishes that look colorful & are well presented. These millet tarts were created from Sorghum Flour/Bajra Flour and were filled with yoghurt. Pineapple & strawberry were used for flavours & colours & no artificial flavours or colors were used. This is a Kids friendly recipe especially for those who are fussy eaters.

Ingredients:

1. Sorghum flour ( Jowar ka atta) – 1/2 cup

2. Jaggery Powder – 1/4 cup

3. Desiccated Coconut powder – 1/2 cup

4. Unsalted butter – 50 gms

5. Cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp

*If you don’t want to use coconut powder, replace it with 1 cup Sorghum flour.

For filling

1. Strawberry or Pineapple -1/2 cup

2. Lemon juice – 1 tsp

3. Jaggery – 1 tbsp (optional)

4. Hung curd – 1/4 cup

Method:

For tart (base)

1. Start with creaming by mixing butter & jaggery powder. Mix well till it becomes light creamish.

2. Now add flour, Coconut powder & cardamom powder.

3. Mix well, don’t Knead.

4. Place/Set in the tart mould.

5. Refrigerate for at least 20-25 minutes.

6. Meanwhile preheat the oven at 180°C for 5-7 minutes.

7. Bake the tarts for 20-22 minutes at the same temperature.

For filling:

1. In a sauce pan cook pieces of strawberry/pineapple with water, jaggery n lemon juice.

2. Cook till it becomes tender & gets converted into sauce.

3. Now mix it well with hung curd.

Assembling:

1. Once the tart has completely cooled down, fill it with the filling of fruit n hung curd.

2. Garnish with desired toppings of fruits n seeds
