It’s very common for those who are on their weight loss journey to observe that the weight is not changing at all despite following a sustainable diet, exercise regimes & other things. In the beginning it is worthwhile to see that we are losing weight very quickly when we adopt few lifestyle changes. But after a few weeks we might see the scales come to a complete standstill or rather increasing. That period itself becomes very disappointing & disheartening for many of us & we stop doing everything that we were doing already. But that’s not the solution!!!

Weight loss plateau is observed when the total number of calories that we burn equals the calories that we consume leading to stalling of weight on scales. We can break this plateau either by increasing the level, duration or intensity of our physical activity or by decreasing our calorie intake. Since our body becomes used or acclimatized to the changes we have had incorporated hence the need is to give it something new to respond. 
Though on an average a plateau can last anywhere between eight to twelve weeks, but it can be interrupted by following & practicing few tips & tricks.
