Happy World’s Chocolate Day 2k21 !!!

So there you have it. Tart with chocolate, and almonds that doesn’t need to be baked. A recipe that’s quick (to prepare), simple, and doesn’t require too many ingredients. You can try this delectable dessert for you kids, believe me they are gonna love it. Top it with mangoes or other seasonal fruits of your choice to make it even more indulging.

Ingredients:

  1.  Almonds – 1/2 cup
  2.  Dates paste – 1/4 cup
  3.  Almond butter – 2 tbsp
  4.  Cocoa powder – 1 tbsp
  5.  Powdered sugar – 2 tbsp
  6.  Milk – 2-3 tbsp
  7. Vanilla Essence – 2-3 drops (optional)
  8. Diced mangoes or other seasonal fruits – for garnishing (optional)

Method;

  1. Dry roast almonds & grind them to make partial almond butter (it should not be very sticky like butter and not even dry like coarse almond powder)
  2. Pulse seedless & soft dates to get the paste like consistency. Mix almonds & make dough
  3. Lightly grease two 4.75” tart pans
  4. Press the dates & almonds mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared tart pan(s);  place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile making the chocolate pudding/filling
  6. In a heavy saucepan, take almond butter.
  7. Add sugar, cocoa powder, & gradually add milk.
  8. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil and stir for 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from the heat; add vanilla essence.
  10. After 30 minutes take out the tart shells from the refrigerator.
  11. Spoon the chocolate mixture into individual tarts, after it cools down
  12. Chill until serving. or for 1 hour at least & garnish with chopped mangoes or any fruit of your choice.
