Ingredients:

1. Foxtail Millet – 1 cup

2. Chana dal – 1/2 cup

3. Split green moong dal – 1/2 cup

4. Dhania/Coriander seeds – 1 tsp

5. Jeera/Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

6. Green chili – 1Salt – To tast

7. 4 cups water for soaking

 8. About 1/2 cup water for grinding

Eat this as a paper dosa with sambhar or as masala dosa with different fillings…

Method: 

  • Rinse well Foxtail millet, chana dal, split green moong dal in a bowl.

  • Now Add Dhania seeds, Jeera seeds, and green chili.

  • Add 3 cups water and soak for 6-8 hours or overnight.

  • In the morning drain the water from the Soaked mix.

  • To this mix, add salt & 1/4 cup water & blend to a batter consistency

  • Warm a cast iron tava or on medium flame.

  • Sprinkle some water and check if the tava is hot enough. The water should evaporate immediately.

  • Tava should not be very hot as well. The batter may stick to it and it will make it difficult to spread it.

  • Season the tava using oil. Onion can also be used to season the tava.
