Foxtail Millet is good for Kapha Types, it nourishes the body & helps in weight loss.

Ingredients:
  1. Foxtail millet –1/2 cup
  2.  Water – 1 cup
  3.  Finely chopped onion –medium size
  4.  Chopped mixed veggies(Beans, Carrot, Peas, Capsicum etc ) – 1/2 cup
  5. Green Chillies (otional) – 1
  6. Few Coriander leavesChopped
  7. Lemon juice – tsp (optional)
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Curry Leaves – 4-5
  10. Mustard Seeds –1/2 tsp 
  11. Chana Dal (Bengal Gram) – 1/2 tsp
  12.  Turmeric / Haldi powder  – a pinch
Method:
  • Rinse the foxtail millet and soak in water for 10-15 mins . Drain water and keep aside
  • Take a pan add oil, add chana dal and mustard. Let them turn golden brown and splutter
  • Now add curry leaves, onion and green chilli .
  • Saute & add finely chopped mixed veggies. Add some salt, turmeric and cook them covered for 3-4 mins.
  • Now add foxtail millet & water and let it cook covered till the water is fully absorbed. (2 whistles will be required in Pressure cooker)
  • Switch off the flame & let it sit in the pan for another 5 minutes
  • Add coriander & lemon before serving
