Bloating is an abnormal swelling or increase in diameter of the abdominal area that may cause pain & discomfort.

Bloating, is a Vata disorder in Ayurveda. It may be -Aadhmana or flatulence, Pratiaadhmana or accumulation of gas in the upper abdomen region, Aanaha or distention caused by an inability to pass stool or urine, and Atopa or stomach regurgitation(reflux) . Imbalanced Vata dosha, weak Agni and accumulation of ama toxins are the reasons for bloating. Occasional bloating or gas is normal but when it becomes regular and persistent, it a sign and symptom of digestive imbalance.

Causes:
✔️Eating heavy and fatty foods
✔️Consuming Raw and uncooked food, which is difficult to digest for a person with weak agni and poor digestion
✔️Consuming Cold food and drinks
✔️Swallowing air when eating too quickly, drinking through a straw.

  2. Oil Massage or Abhyanga
  3. Include Triphala in your diet.
  4. Go for fasting – 1 day per week
  5. Eat only after the previous meal has been fully digested
  6. Water intake to be restricted/prohibited immediately before & after meals
  7. Add some physical activity to your daily schedule.
  8. Stay calm & destressed.
