In Indian, festival is the time to enjoy the delicious treats with family and friends. If we talk about festival of colours “Holi”, the flavours of Thandai & kesar are mandatory. Thandai Lassi is a lip smacking, simple and easy to make Holi drink made with few ingredients & flavoured with kesar.

This Thandai Lassi will mark the onset of summer season with its coolant properties.

Ingredients:

1. Thick curd -1 cup

2. Dates paste -1 tbsp

3. Cold Water -1 cup

4. Rose water -1 tbsp

5. Thandai masala -1 tbsp

6. Gulkand – 1 tsp (optional)

7. Rose petals (for garnishing)

 

Ingredients for Thandai Masala:

1. 1/2 cup almonds 70 grams

2. 1/3 cup cashews 50 grams

3. 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns

4. 2 tablespoon fennel seeds

5. 2 tablespoon poppy seeds

6. 30 green cardamom pods

7. 2 tablespoons dried rose petals

8. 1/4 teaspoon saffron strands

Method:

1. For making thandai masala, grind all the ingredients into a fine powder & store in an airtight container.

2. For making thandai lassi: Add curd, thandai masala powder, dates paste in blender and whisk it for few seconds.

3. Add rose water, gulkand, water in blender and blend again for few seconds to make Lassi.

4. Check consistency of Lassi, if you like it more watery add more water and give a whisk again.

4. Garnish with rose petals.
