Benefits of Ragi/Nachini/Finger Millet

  • Its balances Pitta & Kapha Dosha as it’s Rasa – is Sweet & Astringent and Vipaka is Pungent.

Ingredients:

  1. Ragi poha – 1 cup
  2. Chopped Onion – 1/4 cup
  3. Finely Chopped Carrot – 1/4 cup
  4. Chopped Capsicum – 1/4 cup
  5. Green chilli – 1 -2 sliced
  6. Par Boiled Green peas – 1/4 cup
  7. Grated Ginger – 1 ½ tbsp
  8. Curry leaves – 1 spring
  9. Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  10. Mustard Oil – 1 tbsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Coriander leaves – for garnishing

 Method:

  • Wash Ragi Poha twice or thrice, don’t soak.
  • Keep it in a strainer so that excess water drains out
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds & let its splutter, now add curry leaves.
  • Now add onion & sauté well.
  • Add ginger, carrot, capsicum, green chilli & Saute
  • Add Ragi Poha & salt & mix well on medium to low flame.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • Sprinkle coriander leaves mix well & keep it covered for 5-10 minutes
  • Serve hot with green chutney.
