Looking for a quick Weight Loss !! Forget it😅😅
As a Nutritionist, I come across so many clients who want quick weight loss & want to do anything for it. But my advise to them is to go for a well balanced diet that is healthy and sustainable without any side effects !!
Let’s look at impact of crash diets on your body-
✔️ Muscle Loss – Muscles are made up of Protein. When you do crash diets you deprive your body of essential nutrients such as Carbs, Proteins or Fats. Hence you tend to lose muscles, regaining which later is not that easy.
✔️Slower Metabolism – Losing muscle mass also lowers your BMR (basal metabolic rate). When your body has fewer muscles, it needs fewer calories to maintain them. Your BMR decides how many calories you will burn while at rest.
✔️Bowel Disturbance – Making unplanned & random dietary changes may lead to disturbed bowel movements especially when you go on liquid diet or Keto diet etc where your Fibre intake is zero or minimum; which is the main source of regulating bowel movements.
✔️ Lethargy & Fatigue – As Crash diet will lead to muscle loss, one may feel consistent pain, aches & lack of energy in the body. Also the glycogen stores that are immediate source of energy during fated state get depleted, leading to lack of energy.
✔️Damaged Hair & Skin – When you go on a crash diet, you limit the amount of vital vitamins and nutrients that your body needs leading to lacklustre hair & dry patchy skin.
✔️ Weak Immune system – by not taking essential minerals and vitamins your immune system gets weaker. Cutting down fatty foods from the diet completely, the body cannot absorb fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and K.
