Yoga Pose for Hypothyroidism 🧘🧘
The thyroid is a small gland in the throat which secretes hormones. Hormones secreted by the thyroid gland are responsible for the body’s metabolism, temperature and growth. Types of thyroid:-
❇️Hypothyroidism is characterized by the thyroid gland being unable to produce enough thyroid hormones,
❇️Hyperthyroidism occurs as a result of the thyroid gland releasing too much hormones.
These Yoga poses done for 3-4 months along with dietary restrictions in continuation might reverse hypothyroidism –
✔️Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) – It exerts pressure on the thyroid gland & helps in improving blood circulation and stagnant secretion.
✔️Ustrasana (Camel Pose) – This pose stimulates the thyroid gland by stretching the neck and increasing blood circulation in the gland.
✔️Matsyasana (fish pose)
Matsyasana or fish pose makes your back arch in a way that it increased blood circulation in the thyroid gland. This pose stretches the neck and throat & relieves a lot of tension in the area.
✔️Halasana (plough pose)
This pose helps in stretching of the neck and stimulates the thyroid glands.
✔️Dhanurasana (bow pose)
This yoga pose for thyroid massages the thyroid gland and compels it to produce the required amount of thyroid hormone for controlling metabolism.
✔️Setu Bandhasana (bridge pose) Setu bandhasana or the bridge pose is an effective yoga for thyroid, as it also helps in stretching of the neck and stimulates the thyroid glands. However, this pose must not be performed by people with hyperthyrodisim as it facilitates secretion of thyroid hormones.
